This Sunday — Epiphany

December 31st, 2013 | John Chandler

This Sunday, we will close out the Christmas season together as we celebrate Epiphany. Epiphany is the day where we celebrate the revelation of Jesus as God’s son in the form of a human being. Traditionally, this day is tied to the visit of the Magi which is described in Matthew 2.

I’m excited that someone from our own congregation, Erin Szczerba, will be preaching this weekend. She was nothing less than enthused when I first asked her to preach a few months ago, and I know she’s been reflecting, studying, and working on how to best help us celebrate this day together. I hope you’ll come to support and encourage her. Even more, I hope our community can spend those few hours alongside each other being reminded once again that God joined flesh and blood. (And bones and guts and everything else too.)
