This Sunday: Transfiguration Sunday

As we mentioned a few weeks ago, the season between Christmas and Lent on the church calendar brings a focus on Epiphany — the revealing of Jesus as both God and man. The last Sunday of this season before Lent focuses on a unique story known as the Transfiguration.

The last Sunday before Lent will be the Marathon, and we don’t want to miss this story, so we’ll look at the story of the Transfiguration this coming Sunday. Take a few moments this week to read over Mark 9:2-9 to have this unique image of Jesus in mind.
